On Thursday 29th October, we welcomed Ola, Grace, Andrew and Laurie from Fundment to the Hub.
Ola is the CEO of Fundment, and we were very excited to welcome him and the team to Penzance again, having met some of them last year. Fundment is the main investment platform we use at Jacksons, and we believe maintaining a strong relationship with them ensures we get the very best for our clients, and the most out of the platform for ourselves.
After collecting them from the train station and taking them to lunch, Pete and Sharon walked our guests up to our recording studio where we put them straight to work!
First, CEO Ola, filmed a video with Pete for our clients explaining our relationship with Fundment and why we use them. Ola was a real natural on camera!
We then invited Grace and Andrew to the studio, where Pete interviewed them for an upcoming episode of the Jacksons podcast: The Practice of Progress. Both Andrew and Grace were brilliant and we can't wait for you to listen to that episode!
After recording Pete and Sharon walked them down to the Hub, where they gave the whole team a short presentation, letting us know about upcoming changes and developments at Fundment and answering any questions or feedback we had.
The best part of the talk was the infamous quiz, it was so notorious last year, that some of the team tried to prepare for this year's one! Questions varied from which member of the Fundment team was expecting their first baby (James) to where do Fundment sit in the top 10 investment platforms (3rd!). The winner of the quiz was to be announced later on in the evening...
Speaking of which, we then headed out on the town! We started off with a drink at The Turk's Head in their beer garden, huddled under their lovely heaters, before crossing the road to the Artist Residence for our dinner.
Three courses and lots of drinks and laughter later we heard the results of the quiz. In joint second place were Demi and Tegen (although we have STRONG suspicions they worked together, the above picture offers some evidence) and the winner was TC! Demi and Tegen were awarded a lovely box of Lindt chocolates and TC left with bottle of champagne to celebrate his victory!
As 9pm rolled around, the 'train crew' left to catch the last train and a few others peeled off to head home, but Rhea, Ellis and Pete joined the Fundment team at the Admiral Benbow across the street for a nightcap.
We loved welcoming the Fundment team to Penzance, maybe next time we'll go up to London and visit them? Watch this space!
